Nancy Amanda Bray Papers, 1976-1997.

Includes the correspondence, reports, scientific papers, research notes, and data gathered by physical oceanographer Nan Bray largely during her years at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, 1983-1997. The accession includes a small amount of material documenting Bray's education, including some student notes. For instance, the accession includes her student notes for Waves and Tides, a course taught by Carl Wunsch (WHOI 19.81). The accession documents Bray's research on ocean circulation, including the flow of oceanic waters through straits like the Strait of Gibraltar. The research notes and data files document Bray's studies of the Gulf of California, the Gulf of Mexico and the Indonesian Archipelago. They document Bray's participation in the Northern California Coastal Circulation Study (NCCCS) and her work with the Minerals Management Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
